KNX standardisation in UAE eminent

The 1st of October has been a historical day for the worldwide STANDARD of home and building control. In the search for a suitable technology, the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) chose KNX for their major project of the ‘Sharjah City of Conservation', a worldwide direction giving project for smart cities. The decisive factor for SEWA's choice was the openness and the guaranteed interworking of certified devices of various manufacturers, using the KNX technology. Dr. Rashid Alleem, Chairman of SEWA, and Mr. Heinz Lux, CEO of KNX Association, signed the memorandum of understanding, introducing a several step plan, which includes the approval of KNX as an official UAE standard, as well as the implementation of KNX in the local curricular.
