Energy Efficiency
The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation
Innovation
Smart homes and buildings are always an upgrade in comparison to a conventional installation. Not only automated functions and a higher level of comfort contribute to a higher living standard, but also the possibility to be ready for coming innovations. Thanks to the usage of KNX, the door has been opened to integrate new innovative solutions, using the worldwide STANDARD for home and building control.

Description des clients
Villa Olia is located at Gouves in Crete. We have installed a KNX system in this small villa for the presence detection. This villa is used for rental through platforms like airbnb. We needed to control the house with the aid of true presence detection. We use a combination of movement detectors and door contacts to run a logic that tells us when the guest is present or not. We also use all the door and window contacts to automatically turn off the air conditions in each room after an amount of time. We also control all the lights of the house and we have them in the visualisation. The external lights are controlled with time schedule. There are installed smoke detectors that trigger the alarm and notify us. Finally we have a water leakage sensor in the basement so as to turn off the valve of the water in case off a leakage and send us a notification.
