Energy Efficiency
The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation

435 Bourke Street is a landmark commercial office tower in Melbourne and one of the world's most sustainable workplace developments. Featuring a pioneering photovoltaic "solar skin" façade, all-electric building services and ambitious net-zero operational targets, the project sets a new benchmark for intelligent building performance.
KNX serves as the building's smart technology backbone, providing integrated control of lighting and automated blinds throughout the entire development. Every KNX datapoint is fully exposed to the MSI building management platform, delivering real-time visibility of blind positions, dimming levels, lamp status, runtime hours and operational performance. This comprehensive integration enables advanced energy optimisation, occupant comfort, predictive maintenance and data-driven building management, helping maximise the performance of one of Australia's most innovative sustainable buildings.
