Energy Efficiency

The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation

Emtan Prestij Apartment demonstrates how a well-designed KNX infrastructure can evolve long after its original installation. Rather than replacing the existing automation system, we retained the KNX backbone and redesigned the user experience across 26 apartments. New touch panels combine KNX visualisation and IP intercom in a single interface, providing residents with intuitive control of lighting, air conditioning and building functions. The project also integrates entrance access control and a KNX-based elevator call system serving the entire building. By combining existing KNX infrastructure with modern IP-based technologies, the project significantly reduced unnecessary rewiring and replacement of functional equipment. It demonstrates one of KNX's greatest strengths: an open, interoperable platform that can be modernised and expanded years after installation.
