Energy Efficiency
The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation

Not only automated functions and a higher level of comfort contribute to a higher living standard, but also the possibility to be ready for coming innovations. Thanks to the usage of KNX, the door has been opened to integrate new innovative solutions, using the worldwide STANDARD for home and building control.

This project covers the design, programming, and commissioning of a KNX-based building automation system for a high-end residential villa. The main goal was to create a reliable, flexible, and future-proof automation solution that allows personalized control while maintaining long-term stability. The KNX system integrates lighting, HVAC, and shading into a single unified platform. Lighting control includes switching, scene control, and time-based functions adapted to daily use scenarios. HVAC operation is implemented through centralized and zone-based control, allowing individual room comfort management while interfacing with the central plant room via BACnet. Shading systems are controlled individually and in groups, with preset positions and centralized operation. All engineering and commissioning were carried out using ETS in accordance with KNX standards, ensuring interoperability, ease of maintenance, and future expandability of the system.
