Catan C1 KNX IP Router

The Catan C1 controller is the central component of the Catan product family for building and room automation applications. It offers a wide range of hardware and software functions. The controller supports various extension modules connected via Single Pair Ethernet. All modules can also be operated locally using the Catan Control Panel. The controller integrates KNX IP router functionality and forwards KNX telegrams between KNX IP and the integrated KNX TP interface. This allows it to be used as part of the KNX IP backbone infrastructure in a KNX installation. The controller’s automation software can communicate directly with connected KNX TP devices. External devices can access the KNX TP devices via KNX IP tunneling. Catan C1 is available in two variants with different software features. Catan C1 EN is preinstalled for use with the Niagara Framework®. Catan C1 uses PLCnext Technology from Phoenix Contact and allows various apps from the PLCnext Store to run on the device. Application-specific apps, such as the Symcon app, make Catan C1 a flexible platform for smart building applications. Device administration is performed via web-based management. The controller’s IP settings are configured via this interface and cannot be set via ETS. The device is Cradle to Cradle Certified® at Bronze level.
