Energy Efficiency
The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation
Innovation
Smart homes and buildings are always an upgrade in comparison to a conventional installation. Not only automated functions and a higher level of comfort contribute to a higher living standard, but also the possibility to be ready for coming innovations. Thanks to the usage of KNX, the door has been opened to integrate new innovative solutions, using the worldwide STANDARD for home and building control.

Customers Description
Seit 10 Jahren beschäftigt sich die FH Technikum Wien mit Smart Homes, AAL und Assistierenden Technologien. Im Mai 2019 wurde das neue Smart Living Lab fertig gestellt. Auf über 250m2 Nutzfläche bestehend aus Wohnbereich, Nass- und Schlafraum, Küche und Seminarbereichen, ausgestattet mit moderner Smart Home und assistierender Technologie, steht uns nun ein ideales Labor für die zukünftige Lehre sowie spannende Forschungsprojekte zur Verfügung.
Im Labor ist die erforderliche Infrastruktur verfügbar, um z.B. User Tests mit Betroffenen oder Erprobung und Integration von neuen Technologien zu ermöglichen. Es wurden typische Geräte wie TV, Radio, DVD Player, Tablets... eingerichtet und Smart Home Technologien für Licht, Heizung sowie Klimatisierung integriert. Zusätzlich sind eine Reihe alternativer Eingabeinterfaces bzw. Assistive Technologien (Eye Tracker, Lippenmäuse, ...) verfügbar, die mit dem Smart Home verknüpft sind und so eine Steuerung ermöglichen.
