Customers Description
The Hirschgässlein project in Basel features a KNX-based automation system designed to meet local energy efficiency regulations that require automatic shading control for HVAC systems exceeding 20 kW. Solar radiation is continuously monitored using pyranometric sensors to measure irradiance in W/m². When solar intensity surpasses 200 W/m² and the cooling system is active, all shutters automatically close and remain locked to prevent heat gain and reduce energy consumption.
The integration of Ksenia provides window status monitoring, while presence sensors detect occupancy throughout the building. Eelectron keypads with integrated temperature sensors measure room temperature and allow manual shutter operation when permitted. All system logic is managed in ComfortClick, ensuring that air conditioning activates only if outdoor temperature exceeds 22 °C, indoor temperature exceeds 26 °C, and all windows are closed. Each room operates independently,with real-time 3D visualization.
