Energy Efficiency

The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation

Customers Description

The project had a family as protagonists, wishing to have a comfortable home but also environmentally friendly and with a particular attention to the materials used, energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Being a passive house, so without heating/cooling systems, the management and control of air quality and the Controlled Mechanical Ventilation system became essential. Therefore it was decided to put a sensor on the ground floor capable of measuring temperature, humidity and CO2. A management and control system was also added via web server, which allows from mobile devices and pc/tv to control the functionality of the house (such as managing outdoor and garden lighting in total automation, recreating a weather station simply by using RSS feeds from common weather services).
