The weather station developed by WAREMA precisely records outdoor temperature, wind speed and direction, brightness and twilight levels, precipitation, and sun position. An integrated GPS sensor also ensures exact position detection. This comprehensive data forms the basis for intelligently automated sun shading, making a significant contribution to improving a building’s energy efficiency. Thanks to state-of-the-art sensor technology — including ultrasonic and optical sensors — the weather station operates entirely without moving parts that are subject to wear. This makes the sensor unit particularly low-maintenance, significantly increases its service life, and enables a modern, compact design. The weather station is integrated into the KNX standard, which is established worldwide for building automation, via a sensor interface. The interface is certified according to the latest KNX Secure standard and can optionally be equipped with a plug-in Protect module, which reliably protects the on-site bus system against overvoltage.
