Il controllo della luminosità, che regola in funzione degli apporti naturali contribuiscono ad un notevole risparmio sull'energia elettrica. Lo stesso sensore utilizzato per il controllo della luminosità, spegne la luce in assenza di utilizzatori. La suddivisione della complessità globale del progetto in sotto sezioni coincidenti ai piani dell'edificio. L'intelligenza distribuita contribuisce alla sicurezza di funzionamento, vista la tolleranza ai guasti che restano circoscritti . La velocità della dorsale KNX è stata migliorata con l'utilizzo di IP router come accoppiatore di linea, così sia la dorsale , sia la supervisione viaggiano su un bus 10/100/1000 MB/s
