Energy Efficiency
The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation

Customers Description
The museum is a finished 520m mine at 850m alt. It demonstrates the mining process. Digging, drilling, putting the charges, explosions, carrying the blast products. Visitors feel they are in a real working mine. They can hear voices of working men and equipment, they can see blasts and falling rocks. The goal is achieved by special designed effects. KNX controls the electromechanical systems, lights, multimedia, smoke machines, sound amplifiers the speakers and the narration language (out of 8). To achieve accurate control and synchronization a special device developed. It communicates serially with a PC application also developed for this purpose and produces the appropriate KNX telegrams on the bus that connects everything. A special scripting language developed in order to provide the means to parameterize the functionality without KNX reprogramming. Humidity within the mine was another issue and special waterproof KNX devices used. KNX is up and running in this harsh environment.
