Energy Efficiency
The usage of automated functions already save energy in every installation. Especially the usage of KNX has a lot of potential for further energy savings, which can contribute to a better environmental footprint. Be extending KNX to more functions and applications, energy savings of up to 60% can be realised. Thanks to the flexibility of KNX, these functions can easily be implemented in this installation

Customers Description
The project consists of a building for the local police department of Kortrijk This police zone includes all police activities for 3 Belgian municipalities. A total of 300 Police officers are housed in the new police station.
The building supports the operational activities, such as information, intervention, research and advice.
Due to the nature of the building, a lot of attention is paid to the security of the operations and safety issues like anti aggression buttons.
From an energetic point of view, the building is conceived as a low-energy building.
This was achieved thanks to the KNX system, reversible heat pumps, solar water heater, solar screens and lighting control. There are 35 charging stations for electric vehicles.
The KNX system was crucial to achieve our main goals to build a smart, future-proof building that
- fulfils the EU target for 2020
- complies the EU Directive 2018/844 (6 years before deadline 2025)
- KNX is the backbone to achieve the EU 2030 target
